Saudi Crown Prince buys the world's most expensive property.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, an advocate of austerity, has bought Château Louis XIV, the world's most expensive private property, near Paris, for €275 million, according to the New York Times.

The property was sold in September 2015 by a French company specializing in luxury real estate. At the time, it was only known that the buyer was from the Middle East.

The New York newspaper, quoted today by AFP, indicates that the current owner is the crown prince of Saudi Arabia, who has advocated austerity in the fight against corruption in the country.

A French news portal, Mediapart, reported in July that Mohammad bin Salman was the buyer of Château Louis XIV.

Built in 2011, the property was named after the monarch who reigned in France in the 17th and 18th centuries and combines 18th-century architecture with the latest technology.
