Cleaning the house: taking advantage of the good weather

Spring cleaning is a tradition in many cultures and the fact that the weather has become more pleasant means that you can do some thorough cleaning, including airing things out.
Take advantage of the sunny days to start cleaning windows, cushions, comforters and much more. It can also be the perfect time to swap winter clothes for mid-season clothes and organize your closet.
Here are a few tips to help you make cleaning practical, simple, quick and effective.

Plan ahead and prepare everything you need

The key to this deep cleaning process is to take your time and prepare. Book and plan the days in your calendar and find the free time you consider necessary in your schedule. Once you have established the time for cleaning, prepare a list of all the cleaning products and supplements you need, and what you need to buy according to what you want to do.

Develop a cleaning action planWe know that lives are full with little free time, so you can organize the cleaning by days, depending on your schedule and availability, for example: Saturday you clean the bathroom and kitchen, Sunday the bedrooms, the following week the outside and the garage, at another time the living room and dining room, the selection of things you no longer use... what matters is organization and planning so that the process is easy and efficient. Prioritize the areas that need the most attention and divide the tasks into smaller steps to make the process easier for you.

Cleaning the forgotten places

The time has come to clean the areas of the house that you never clean, whether for lack of time, patience or willpower. The neglected areas are usually behind the furniture, the cupboards and high shelves, under the carpets, cleaning the cushions, the curtains... all these areas require a little more time and investment, but it will be well worth it after the end result: a clean and sanitized house.

Go through the drawers and cupboards

Drawers, especially in the kitchen, accumulate all kinds of dirt, dust, crumbs and the like. Now is the time to remove all the items from the drawers, be they cutlery, kitchen towels, napkins or wooden spoons, and thoroughly clean each drawer. Do the same process in the kitchen cupboards, clean the inside and outside surfaces and organize the items again in an orderly fashion, now with the drawers and cupboards extremely clean. This process can be done not only in the kitchen but also in the bedrooms, living room and bathroom.

Clean the windows and doors

We clean the windows from time to time when it's the king's birthday, but we never remember to clean the doors. And this spring will be the start of a new era, where you'll have clean, dust-free doors and sparkling windows. Clean the windows, doors and gutters with a glass cleaner and make sure you remove the dirt that has accumulated in the corners.

Cleaning the mattress
The mattress needs to be cleaned from time to time so that it doesn't accumulate dust mites, bacteria and fungi and pose a risk to your health. Vacuum it well and clean it with baking soda to remove stains and odors.

Wash the fabrics in the house

Put all the fabrics in the house in the washing machine or the laundry room so that the dust and dirt that has accumulated over the winter disappears. Curtains, blankets, upholstery, cushion covers, rugs and comforters are all examples of what you can wash.

Clean household appliances

Household appliances need to be thoroughly cleaned so that we can continue to use them without running the risk of them transmitting bacteria or fungus to us. That's why it's important to clean the inside and outside of all household appliances, be it the stove, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, toaster, blender, coffee machine, among others.
Swap winter clothes for summer clothes
Warm days are upon us and this is the ideal time to swap winter clothes for summer or mid-season clothes. With the arrival of spring, you can put your mid-season and summer clothes in the drawers that are easiest to access and store your winter clothes in the storeroom or in locked boxes.

Bringing freshness into your home

Take advantage of the spring days to ventilate your home. Open the windows and let the fresh air and sunlight in to renew the atmosphere, bring in good energy and air out all the rooms. You can also open drawers and cupboards while you let the house air out for a few hours.
Prepare the outside space
If you have a garden, a small yard or even a balcony, take advantage of the sunny days to thoroughly wash the surface of the outside area and remove all the leaves and debris from the winter. You can then plant new plants and flowers and give your home a more flowery, springtime look.
With the spring cleaning done, you'll enjoy a clean, airy home, with everything washed and a freer air, and everything will be ready to celebrate the season of flowers as it should be.
