Yesterday, at Figueira da Foz Town Hall, the Minister for the Environment and Energy left “good news for Figueira da Foz”, which relates to the construction of a cycle bridge over the River Mondego, on the Atlantic Coast Route, linking the parishes of Vila Verde and Alqueidão.
Maria da Graça Carvalho recalled, in the presence of Pedro Santana Lopes, mayor of Figueiredo, that "this bridge, with a length of 397.20 meters and an estimated cost of over 7.6 million euros, was part of the PRR projects.
As part of the last reprogramming of this program, the European Commission decided to withdraw it, considering that it would not be possible to carry it out within the planned deadlines."
However, she said, "through a resolution approved by the Council of Ministers on April 10, the government approved the transfer of the investment to the Environmental Fund. So this is another project that will go ahead".
