Following the agreement signed between the Portuguese Association for the Disabled (APD) – Figueira da Foz local branch, Figueira da Foz City Council, and the Central Region Medical and Rehabilitation Center – Rovisco Pais, and after several months of training, this team will finally enter competition.
“This is a historic moment for Figueira da Foz, as it is the first team of its kind in the municipality,” says Nuno Miguel Pedrosa.
This Saturday, February 1, the APD Figueira da Foz team will travel to the home of the National Champion (APD – Leiria) for their first official match.
Two games will be played. One in the 4-player version (ACR4) and another in the 6-player version (ACR6).
Eight players have been called up for this game, whose team is led by coach Suzana Oliveira, Deolinda Santinha, Sílvia Santos, Maria João Grou, Cláudio Gomes, Luís Silva, André Sesta, Rui Paz, and Nuno Pedrosa.
